Simon Marshall
I started playing the pipes with Polkemmet at the age of ten. When the Juvenile band finished I moved to Boghall and Bathgate. At sixteen years old I joined The Scots Guards serving for five years in the 2nd Battallion. When I left the army I returned to Boghall and Bathgate for a short spell and in recent times I played with Scottish Power under Roddy Macleod for four seasons.
My solo tuition started with P/M John Matheson (pupil of Angus MacPherson). Then I went to Duncan Johnstone in Glasgow for several years. In recent times I have been recieving lessons from Hugh MacCallum.
I have won many prizes including the Silver medal at the Argyllshire Gathering, Oban.
I now live in Livingston with my wife and two daughters and work for myself as a Haulier, in the construction industry.
