Robert Crozier
Robert had his first piping lesson with Pipe Major George Brass from the Footscray Pipe Band in Melbourne Australia in 1979. Robert joined the Victoria Police Pipe Band as a full time Police bandsman in 1989 and took over the job of tuning the band and helping out with the piping. In 1990 the band first competed in grade one at the World Pipe Band Championships in Scotland, Robert soon became well known all over the world for his tuning abilities and great ear for sound. The band quickly became famous for its great sound and was placed in the top six bands every year from 1992 until finally winning the World Pipe Band Champions in 1998. The Victoria Police Pipe Band also won every grade one competition in Australia from 1989 until they finished competing in 1998.
A few years later, Robert also played with the 78th Fraser Highlanders from Toronto Canada in 2000 and 2001. Robert is currently a full time piper in the Victoria Police Pipe Band which regularly plays at public events and he also makes Drone Reeds for his business Crozier bagpipes. He is always passing on his piping knowledge to pipers and bands all over the world helping them to improve their sound and playing standards.
