Kahlil Cappuccino

Kahlil Cappuccino lives in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada with his wife, Brenda Jackson and their 7 year-old twins Rowan and Ella.

Most people (at least in the pipe band world) do a bit of a double-take when they hear his name and Kahlil often finds himself explaining how his involvement in pipe bands has come to pass. So briefly – his mum’s family is traced back to Isle of Barra mid-1700’s. He grew-up in Glengarry County, Ontario, most of his buddies played the GHB. He joined the Glengarry Pipe Band in 1988 so he could honour his heritage and hang out with his mates.
Here he is now.

Kahlil thanks Colin MacLellan and John Kerr for their guidance and direction through the early years.

Kahlil splits his pipe band time between the Spirit’s bass-section and as the bass/lead of the bass-section with the Grade 1, 78th Highlanders Halifax Citadel Pipe Band. He also teaches and judges solo events and band ensemble.
Amongst various prizes over the years, he most recently won the Mid-west Highland Arts Fund Gold Medal for Bass in Kansas City.

Kahlil is the Director of Strategic Accommodation & Facilities Management for the Department of Canadian Heritage.
