Spirit of Scotland Pipe Band

Iain Speirs is from Edinburgh and lives there with his wife Susanne and children Annie and John.

He was taught originally by Jack D. Crichton and by his grandfather, Jock Speirs, Pipe Major in the London Scottish and of the Johnnie Walkers Pipe Band and his father Tom Speirs, Inverness Gold Medal (1980) and Clasp winner (1983). He is currently taught by Donald MacPherson.

His main prizes include the Northern Meeting Gold Medal in 2007, the Argyllshire Gathering Gold Medal in 2002, the Silver Chanter in 2003, 2004 and 2005, the Dunvegan Medal in 1995, the overall at London in 2004, the overall at the SPA in 2005 and the Marches at Oban in 1997.

Iain is a Marketing Manager for Standard Life Investments, an investment company based in Edinburgh.
